Formally and usually known as my true nemesis ( actually all bugs are, but particularly houseflies and mesquites). Anyway, I'm writing to say that I just saw my first housefly since the cold first visited us this winter. I'll admit, I smiled and stared in pure amazement and disbelief. Really? Can this LONG, COLD, ICY, WINDY WINTER finally be going away? I might feel warmth from the sun again?
I then say to this little fly *teary eyed almost* "Welcome back Housefly, welcome back!!!".... *smile and stare more at it*
..... *SMACK*... ..
I know my family understands :D

So--the picture is quite beautiful--and it could create some sense of appreciation on some level--but no--it is a fly, and so must die.
i had the same reaction to spiders...
I can't kill a fly to save my life. Good thing I'm married to a Howard. All of you Howards are truly charitable people...until it comes to pesky flying insects. Then you all get a bit fearsome. ;)
This is potentially the funniest thing I've heard in a long time! So I say, welcome back warm sun and longer days...feel free to send the flies and mosquito's where the cold weather goes! :)
yesterday, at 5 AM when I was feeding my new baby, I heard birds chirping. it was the sweetest, most joyous sound I've heard in a long while. :)
Ah ha ha ha ha! Nice... :)
Mesquites? Are those a hickory-smoke-flavored insect? They must be native to Iowa because I've never heard of them out here. Well, you learn new things every day ;) I killed my first spider of the season the other day...with slightly less gratitude for the upcoming season. Love ya!
